Personal Profile

Born and raised in Germany, Andreas is a qualified attorney with law degrees from Trier University in Germany and the University of Antwerp in Belgium as well as a registered Immigration Practitioner, IP (SA). Before his law studies Andreas began his career with an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank in Germany, focusing on asset and portfolio management.

2002 was a big year for Andreas as he moved to South Africa, a move which ultimately lead him to IBN – joining IBN in the same year. 3 years later, Andreas was appointed on the Board of Directors. In 2004 he obtained his Master of Law at the University of Cape Town. 2011 was another landmark year for Andreas as he became MD and sole owner of IBN.

In the past 8 years IBN has transformed into a major player in immigration within South Africa and right across Africa. Andreas, a FIPSA Registered Practitioner, has focussed on the scaling of IBN resulting in two offices in South Africa, two international offices in Windhoek, Namibia and Nairobi, Kenya and growing the employee number from only 6 in 2011 to currently 31. He successfully completed an acquisition of an immigration company in 2017.

Andreas has also co-written 3 books on immigration: “The Corporate Immigration Guide to Southern Africa” – 1st and 2nd edition – and “Investitionsziel Südafrika” and is the contributor for the country chapters on South Africa, Kenya and Zambia in “The Corporate Immigration Review”, 7th, 8th and 9th edition. He is also a contributing expert for several countries on the African law portal Afriwise.

Andreas’ passion is to empower people, to help them grow, to motivate them to make the best out of their own potentials and opportunities. He believes if people want to come to (South) Africa it means that they are curious, motivated and willing to explore. In his eye’s curiosity stands for constant learning and constant improvement. Andreas want to make a positive contribution to the world and help to build a better understanding between countries in Africa.

Andreas is an accomplished speaker and a regular contributor to national and international immigration conferences. Apart from this, Andreas has been appointed as the deputy chairperson of the Immigration Advisory Board of South Africa.

When he is not at work or writing legal articles in various papers, you can find him cycling or hiking.
