Who can apply for a retirement visa in Kenya?

You can apply for a retirement (Class K) visa in Kenya if you are at least 35 years old. In addition to the application for the Kenyan visa, you must provide a statement that you won’t engage in income-generating activities unless you have the relevant work visa.

Application for the Kenyan Retirement Visa also requires you to prove you have an independent annual income
of at least US$24 000.
The income must be derived from sources outside of Kenya or from a pension or annuity in Kenya.

Finally, your residence must benefit Kenya in some way.

Forms you need, to apply for a Kenyan Retirement Visa include the following:

• Copy of your National Passport (Bio Page in your Passport)
• Copy of your Immigration Status, if in Kenyan OR previous visas and/or permits held (visa page in the passport) – If Applicable
• Proof of residence for the current residential country
• Certified and Translated copies of Academic/Professional Certificates
• Signed and correctly filled Application Form 25
• Recent clear Passport-Sized Photo on white background (Soft Copy)
• Covering letter addressed to THE DIRECTOR OF IMMIGRATION SERVICES, Nyayo House, Nairobi, KENYA
• Residential address for Kenya
• Documentary proof of annual assured income of at least USD $24,000 per annum
• Copy of title deed or sale agreement if you have a property in Kenya
• Copy of verified bank statement
• Tax compliance certificate from KRA (for renewals)

2. You and your consultant will then make any necessary additions or corrections Kenyan Visas require.

4. Your immigration consultant will then submit your application to the relevant immigration authority in Kenya.

It takes two to three months for Kenyan immigration applications to be processed.
