A few rules and regulations stayed the same in Kenya and has not been updated, there is however some new regulations that came to light, and the excitement that Colleges and Universities will open again soon.
When COVID19 started the entire world came to a stand still, and it feels good to know that things are slowly starting to return back to normal again. Any change in the curfews etc gives the human race hope again. All individuals should just keep in mind that all safety measures still needs to be followed at all times by wearing your mask in public etc. The curve might be straitening but the virus are still being spread daily.
We have compiled a short update below on the current and previous changes in Kenya.
TRAVEL
International flights resumed on the 1st of August 2020. You have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 96 hours of your arrival. You may also need to quarantine at your own expense, depending on where you’re travelling from because there are a few exempted states as stated on the following link: .
You will also need to complete an online health surveillance form before arriving in Kenya that can be found from the following link: https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/.
Kindly note assignee’s have to reconfirm their bookings 72 hours before departure for domestic flights and 7 days for international flights.

IMMIGRATION
Visa endorsement can now be done on your passport, but only to those who are travelling out of the country and you will need to provide proof thereof i.e. Air ticket.
Work Visa endorsement can now be done before alien registration but only when you have proof that you are travelling out of the country.
There are current delays in in the issuance of all visas, permits and passes, it is now taking an average of 1 to 2 Months where before it took 2 weeks.
CHURCHES/MOSQUES/SCHOOLS/BARS
On the 18th of August 2020 all Churches and Mosques reopened fully . They still need to meet the requirement as set out by the Ministry of Health. The time of worship has been extended up to 90 minutes. The age limit to attend services are now from 6 years to 65 years.
According to a July 7 announcement by CS Magoha, basic educational institutions will only reopen in January 2021. Universities and colleges will open in September 2020 but have to meet the strict COVID-19 regulations.
Bars are closed until further notice. There are no sales of alcoholic drinks and beverages in eateries and restaurants throughout Kenya.
COVID TESTING
Testing is available at the country’s major hospitals (Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital). The charge for the test is approximately USD 100 (KES10,000) at private health facilities and USD 50 (KES 5,000) at government hospitals. Test results are available within 48 – 96 hours.
CURFEW
There is an overnight curfew between 9:00 pm to 4:00am. All measures that are currently in place are to limit the spread of COVID-19 and are being strictly enforced. Non-essential movement is restricted. You have to wear a face mask in public or you can be arrested and charged Kes. 20,000 for not not obeying the law.
